On Monday February 17th at 9:06 PM, APD officers were dispatched to the 100 block of north Prospect Street on a fight in the street. As officers were investigating this incident, they heard gun shots close to where they were. The officers observed a 4-door car drive northbound through the intersection of NW 2nd and Belleview Street at a high rate of speed. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and the driver refused to stop. After a short pursuit through the West Hills and San Jacinto area, the driver exited the vehicle at NW 4th and Prospect and ran on foot. The suspect, Isaac Hernandez a 20-year-old male, was apprehended in the 400 block of north Prospect. Officers retraced the path that Hernandez had driven while attempting to evade officers and located a handgun in the yard of a residence in the 4200 block of SW 3rd Avenue. Officers found that a residence and a vehicle in the 100 block of N. Belleview that had been struck by bullets. Hernandez was arrested for Evading Arrest or Detention in a Motor Vehicle and booked into the Potter County Detention Center. The shooting incident remains under investigation.
