Winter Weather Advisory until 03:00AM Thursday

...SNOW TO SPREAD ACROSS AREAS ALONG AND NORTH OF I-70 ON WEDNESDAY... .Precipitation will overspread much of central Illinois through the morning into the afternoon, with rain possibly mixed with sleet south of Interstate 70, while areas north of Interstate 70 should be mostly snow. Precipitation will continue Wednesday night and into early Thursday, with snow accumulations of 3 to 4 inches with some 5 inch amounts possible. Much colder air will move into the area Thursday with some blowing snow possible.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, locally higher amounts to 5 inches.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central and west central Illinois from Scott and Cass counties in the west to roughly Interstate 57, including towns from Springfield to Decatur to Charleston.

* WHEN...From 9 AM Wednesday to 3 AM CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will likely impact the evening commute.
