On February 8, 2020, at 11:00 p.m., Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies assigned to the Wasco City Substation responded to the 1300 block of E. Street to investigate an incomplete, emergency 911 call to the Sheriff's Office Communications Center. A male called 911 and yelled the address to dispatch operators, then hung up.
Deputies arrived and saw several subjects standing in the driveway leading to the residence. The homeowner, 48-year-old Noe Esquivel walked away from the arriving deputies and threw an unknown object over the neighbor’s fence. The object was later retrieved and determined to be a plastic bag containing approximately 80 grams of suspected Methamphetamines.
Deputies detained four adults and a juvenile, including Esquivel. Deputies obtained a search warrant for Esquivel's residence, for suspicion of narcotics sales.
Investigating deputies located packaging, and other indicators of narcotics sales and use in Esquivel's residence. They also located several live rounds of .22 caliber ammunition.
Noe Esquivel was arrested for possession of narcotics with intent to sale, destroying or concealing evidence, Possession of ammunition by a restricted person, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Esquivel was booked into the Kern County Central Receiving Facility. The other persons detained during the investigation were released at the scene.
