Flood Warning until 05:54PM Sunday

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in North Carolina... South Fork Catawba River At Lowell affecting Gaston County. .Runoff from previous heavy rain will result in the river remaining above flood stage but falling. The Flood Warning continues for The South Fork Catawba River At Lowell.

* until early Sunday morning.

* At 10:15 AM Saturday the stage was 15.3 feet. The river crested on Friday at 16.16 feet at 12:15 PM.

* Minor Flood Stage is 10.0 feet.

* Moderate flood stage is 13.0 feet.

* Major Flood Stage is 15.5 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.

* FORECAST: The river will continue to fall to below Minor Flood Stage by early Sunday morning.

* Impact...At 14.0 feet...Moderate Flooding continues. The South Fork Catawba may be flooding several roads in the Cramerton area, including Cramer Mountain Rd. along Duharts Creek, Riverside Dr., 8th Ave. near the South Fork Masonic Lodge and adjacent park, and Greenwood Pl. near Lakewood Park. The Cramerton Fire Department, Cramerton Drug Company, and the South Fork Masonic Lodge may begin to flood. Floodwaters may be approaching the Cramerton Police Department parking lot.

* Impact...At 13.0 feet...Moderate Flood Stage. The South Fork Catawba River may begin inundating the lowest floors and/or crawl spaces of homes along Riverside Dr. between 4th St. and 5th St. in Cramerton. Impacts may be similar to those associated with flooding on October 9th, 2005.

* Impact...At 10.0 feet...Minor Flood Stage. South Fork Catawba River floodwaters are beginning to inundate Goat Island Park. Floodwaters are approaching Riverside Dr near 5th and 6th Streets in Cramerton.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GASTON, NC
