On Saturday, February 8th, 2020, the City of Lighthouse Point will be celebrating with the Keepers Day 2 Miler Race and Parade.
The 2 miler race and parade will be held between the hours of 7:45am-11:15am on Saturday, February 8th, and will affect traffic in all areas EAST of Lighthouse Drive, between Sample Road and NE 46 Street, including the entire Lake Placid Area. The race route extends from Frank McDonough Park to Dan Witt Park and will be closed to vehicular traffic with intermittent openings between 9:15am and 10:00am.
PLEASE NOTE the Police Department will begin clearing the roads and blocking traffic at approximately 7:45am to ensure a safe course for the event.
We are advising anyone that resides in these areas to make appropriate changes to your travel plans during these activities.
Residents living east of Lighthouse Drive on NE 44 CT/ NE 44 Street (North of the N. Grand Canal), NE 45 Street, NE 46 Street and NE 47 Street will be able to access Northbound Lighthouse Drive from NE 46 Street during the closures.
Limited Parking at Frank McDonough Park
Due to the 2 miler race, parade and additional activities scheduled at Frank McDonough Park on Saturday, February 8th, we are advising participants and attendees that parking (between the hours of 7:30am and 1:00pm) will be extremely limited in and around Frank McDonough Park. All attendees and participants are urged to carpool, park at remote locations or seek alternate methods of transportation to the festivities.
