January 20th:

Auto Burglary – Safeway parking lot 11450 San Pablo Avenue:
Between 4:00 pm and 4:16 pm, an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack.

Auto Burglary – 1800 block of Key Blvd:
At 8:40 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle and removed property from inside.

Grand Theft – 9895 San Pablo Ave (Peets):
At 9:08 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s laptop from a table inside the business and ran to a waiting vehicle.

January 21st:

An unknown suspect shattered a window to a vehicle overnight, rummaged through the interior, but did not take anything.

Warrant Arrest – San Pablo Avenue / Orchard Avenue
An officer conducted a traffic stop and arrested the 28-year-old male driver for a DUI warrant. The male was booked at the police station and released with a citation.

Grand Theft – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza
On Sunday, January 19th, an unknown suspect stole the catalytic converter to the victim’s vehicle.

Tampering with a Vehicle – 800 block of Balra Drive
Between 10:30 am to 11:30 am an unknown suspect shattered a window to a vehicle, rummaged through the interior, but did not take anything.

Vandalism – 800 block of Balra Drive
Between 10:30 am to 11:30 am an unknown suspect shattered a window to a vehicle.

Auto Burglary – 1200 block of Liberty St:
At 8:58 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed property.

Grand Theft – BART path / Lincoln Ave:
At 10:13 pm, an officer reports the victim was approached by two juvenile suspects, one of which grabbed the victim’s phone and ran off.

Shoplifting – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 10:47 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect left the business with merchandise which had not been paid for.

Robbery – 11450 San Pablo Ave:
At 11:23 pm, an officer reports two suspects approached the victim and pepper-sprayed him in the face before taking his wallet and running off.

January 22nd:

Grand Theft – 4010 El Cerrito Plaza
At 3:00 pm, two unknown suspects entered the store, stole cell phones from the display cases, and fled in a dark-color SUV.

Auto Burglary – 400 block of Village Dr:
At 10:05 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the passenger side front window to the victim’s vehicle and removed the registration and owner’s manual.

January 23rd:

Warrant – BART path at Blake Street:
An officer contacted an individual while he was walking on the BART path and discovered he had two warrants for his arrest. The man was booked at the ECPD and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Petty Theft – 900 block of Leneve Pl:
At 6:15 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the rear license plate from the victim’s vehicle.

January 24th:

Armed Robbery – Knott Ave. / Junction Ave.
At approx. 4:30 am, the victim was robbed at gun point by two subjects. One produced a handgun and demanded the victim’s property, while the second suspect approached from behind and pointed a gun at the victim. The suspects then fled east on Knott Ave.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon – 11965 San Pablo Ave.
At 1:51 pm, and officer saw two subjects fighting. One of the suspects grabbed a large landscape tree pole and swung it at the victim’s head but missed. The officers intervened and convinced the subject to drop the pole. The man was arrested, booked, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI – 6060 Central Avenue:
At 12:37 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 53-year-old female from Vallejo for driving under the influence. The female was taken into custody, booked, and then released with a citation to a friend.

Drunk in Public – San Pablo Avenue and Portola Dr:
At 3:19 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 25-year-old male from Richmond. The male was heavily intoxicated and unable to care for himself. The male was taken into custody and transported to the county jail.

January 25th:

Auto Burglary – 700 block Hancock Wy.
An officer reported that in between 10:30 pm and 8:00 am, an unknown suspect shattered the rear window to a vehicle and stole a backpack.

Grand Theft from Person - 5010 EC Plaza:
At 12:41 pm, an officer responded to the report of a theft. The victim interrupted the suspect, who was in the process of lifting her wallet from her purse. The suspect pulled the wallet out, removed cash, handed it back, and then fled on foot.

Battery – 5920 Cutting Boulevard:
At 10:24 pm, an officer reports an employee of a business was leaving and getting into her vehicle when she was approached by a female. The female knocked on the employee’s door. When the employee opened her door, the female began to assault the employee. After striking the employee several times, the female fled to an awaiting car. The employee suffered a bloody nose.

Vandalism – 11200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 10:46 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect shattered the rear passenger window to the victim’s vehicle.

January 26th:

Grand Theft – 400 block of Liberty St:
At 1:46 pm, an officer responded to the report of a catalytic converter theft. An unknown suspect cut and removed the exhaust component from a Toyota Prius sometime in between 1:30 am and 1:15 pm. (Est. loss $3000).

Assault with a Deadly Weapon - San Pablo Ave. / Potrero Blvd:
At 2:16 pm, officers responded to the report of a woman being hit in the face with an umbrella. The woman was waiting for the bus when a 41-year-old Oakland man approached her and asked what she was staring at. He then struck her several times with an umbrella, laying open a laceration on her cheek. Officers located the suspect nearby and took him into custody. He was booked and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Burglary – 6400 block of Fairmount Avenue:
At 5:58 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 49-year-old male who entered an unlocked and closed business and removed money from the cash register. The owner arrived on scene and followed the male to a nearby business where officers arrived and took the male into custody. The male was booked then taken to the county jail.

Warrant Arrest – 11600 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 5:16 am, an officer conducted a pedestrian stop and subsequently arrested a 49-year-old male for an outstanding warrant. The male was booked and then taken to the county jail.

January 27th:

Warrant Arrest – 1400 block of S.55th Street:
While looking for a missing person, officers located a male who was wanted for an assault with a deadly weapon case. The male, a 61-year-old from Richmond, was taken into custody without incident. The male was booked and then taken to the county jail.

Residential Burglary – 500 block of Liberty St:
At 9:13 am, an officer reports two unknown suspects entered the victim’s apartment via a kitchen door. Once inside, the suspect took a gaming console and games. The time of occurrence was 5:30 to 6 pm. A neighbor saw the suspects leaving the area but decided not to call police.

Driving while under the Influence – 400 block of Seaview Dr:
At 1250 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 43-year-old male from El Cerrito. The male drove past another officer at a high rate of speed before colliding into a brick flower bed and two parked cars. The male was heavily intoxicated, and at the conclusion of testing, he was taken into custody. The male was booked then released to his father.
