UPDATE: On February 5, 2020, 34-year-old Jesse Lopez of Bakersfield was arrested for homicide and will be booked in the Central Receiving Facility.

On February 4, 2020, at 1:46 pm, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office was called for a report of a stabbing at Belmont Ave and Roberts Lane in Oildale.
Deputies found an adult man in the parking lot of 800 block of Roberts Lane who was suffering from what appeared to be stab wound to his torso. The man was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
