Deputies responded to a major injury traffic collision at the intersection of Eucalyptus Ave and Galloping Hills Rd

INCIDENT: Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Eucalyptus Avenue at the intersection with Galloping Hills Road, Chino Hills
Involved Party (1): Karolyn Rose Jaranilla (Driver), a 24-year-old resident of Chino Hills
Involved Party (2): Ashley Nicole Bautista (Pedestrian), a 33-year-old resident of Chino Hills
SUMMARY: On Monday, February 03, 2020, at approximately 6:30 p.m., deputies with the Chino Hills Police Station responded to the intersection of Eucalyptus Avenue and Galloping Hills Road for reports of a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian. When deputies arrived to the scene they located Bautista in the westbound lane of Eucalyptus. Through investigation, it was determined Jaranilla was driving her silver, 2002 Infinity G20 sedan west on Eucalyptus and struck Bautista in the westbound lane. Bautista sustained major trauma and was transported to a local area hospital. Jaranilla was not injured, she remained at the scene of the collision and cooperated with the investigation. Deputies with the Sheriff's Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team responded to the scene and are completing the investigation.
