Traffic stop leads to arrest of Fort Branch man on DUI charge. 
On February 1, 2020, at 11:15 p.m. Deputy Zach Lienemann conducted a traffic stop on a Black 2013 Nissan for speeding on County Road 1000 South. Upon stopping the vehicle on State Road 68 near State Road 65 Deputy Lienemann detected the odor of alcohol coming from the driver and observed an open beer inside the vehicle. At that point Deputy Lieneman began a roadside DUI investigation. At the conclusion of his investigation he placed the driver, 55 year old Mark Dike into custody and transported him to the Gibson County Jail. Upon arriving at the Gibson County Jail Mr. Dike was charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated. He has since posted a $650 bond.
A passenger in the vehicle was cited for possessing an open alcoholic beverage container.
Owensville Officer Jason Wright assisted Deputy Lienemann in his investigation.
All Criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
