Saturation patrols in Wasco
On Thursday, January 23, 2020, 2019, deputies from the Wasco City Substation conducted a saturation patrol operation within the city of Wasco. During this operation, deputies wrote eight (8) traffic citations, made seven (7) misdemeanor arrests, and made one (1) felony arrest.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2020, deputies from the Wasco City substation conducted a second saturation operation within the city of Wasco. During this operation, deputies wrote 31 traffic citations and made five (5) misdemeanor arrests, includes one (1) driving under the influence arrest.
On Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., deputies stopped 26-year-old Jaime Damian Cruz of Wasco in the 1900 block of 7th Street for a moving traffic violation. This location was in front of Wasco High School. During the time of the stop, several high school functions were occurring at and around the campus. Upon contact Cruz displayed symptoms of intoxication. He was evaluated by deputies and determined to be above the legal limit. Cruz was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for driving under the influence, driving without a license, open container while operating a vehicle, failure to stop at the limit line, failure to provide vehicle insurance and a misdemeanor arrest warrant.
