Unknown male juveniles have been going door to door in SLO soliciting for donations as part of a scam

On January 27, 2020, The School Resource Officer for the San Luis Obispo High School was made aware of a potential scam being conducted in the City of San Luis Obispo. Over the past several weeks, a group of unknown juvenile males have been going door-to-door, identifying themselves as San Luis Obispo High School students soliciting donations in the form of cash or checks for school related travel expenses. We have confirmed with staff from San Luis Obispo High school this solicitation was fraudulent. Our Department is currently attempting to identify the suspects in this case. We are making our community aware of this scam and asking you to be vigilant when approached for donations in this manner; trust but verify.
