Sergeant Davern is named the 2019 Officer of the Year by the Abington Police Department!

Chief Majenski asked all his supervisors to submit nominations for the 2019 Officer of the Year Award.  In working with the theme of "Community Partners" the Chief asked his supervisors to nominate someone that embodies that concept and works hard to make Abington a better place to live and work in.

The Chief received several nominations; all great officers that come to work every day and do their best in giving 110%, but with any award the difficulty comes with choosing just one recipient.

Sergeant Joseph Davern was chosen based on his nomination and we include what was said about him:

"Sergeant Davern has consistently been someone I can look to for support on the shift"..."He has served as an field training officer and willingly stepped into this role"..."Sgt. Davern was instrumental in developing a short video to warn drivers to slow down"..."His attitude is infectious throughout the station"...and finally "Sergeant Davern takes his duties seriously and even in difficult situations he is an utmost professional, showing compassion and true feeling towards members of the community".

Please help us thank Sergeant Davern for his outstanding work!
