Newark Firefighters To Install Free Smoke Alarms with American Red Cross and Urban League of Essex County in West Ward on January 20th 
The Newark Fire Division, in partnership with the American Red Cross and Urban League of Essex County, will canvass the West Ward from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2020, seeking residents who would like to have a free smoke alarm installed.
Volunteers from the American Red Cross and Urban League of Essex County will work alongside Newark Firefighters as part of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Day of Service to help reduce the number of deaths and injuries caused by home fires.
Newark firefighters and volunteers will be wearing ID tags while canvassing. Please feel free to request to see ID.
