LOCATION: Institution Road/ Verdemont Ranch Road, San Bernardino
SUSPECT(S): Edward Luis Childers, 60-year-old resident of San Bernardino
Tiffany Ann Childers, 45-year-old resident of San Bernardino
SUMMARY:
On January 15, 2020 at 5:20 p.m. Edward Childers and Tiffany Childers were traveling to Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center to visit a female inmate. While Edward was driving on Institution Road, just east of the entrance to Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center, Deputy Kridner conducted a record check of Edward's license plate. The records check showed Edward's vehicle registration had expired in December of 2017, however the vehicle license plate displayed a 2019 registration sticker. Deputy Kridner conducted a traffic stop for this violation and noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. Edward and Tiffany consented to a search of the vehicle, and during the search deputies located marijuana and methamphetamine.
Tiffany Childers was arrested for HS 11377(A) and cite released at the scene.
The investigation into the false registration tag is ongoing.
