The City of Fairfield is conducting an active shooter training / Emergency Operations Drill for city staff. Hosted at the Fairfield Fire Department, personnel from all city departments are learning to coordinate a responses to active shooter incidents in the city.
The Police and Fire Departments are utilizing backup radio channels to run the drill. Any radio traffic heard over scanners is related to the drill, as there is no actual incident in the city.
The purpose of the drill is to bring together all facets of our emergency operations center and give additional city staff the opportunity to work together and learn what needs to be taken care of in an actual emergency.
