SLOW DOWN Green Bay 2020 Traffic Deployment

As part of the ongoing initiative for increased traffic safety in 2020, the Green Bay Police Department partnered with the Wisconsin State Patrol on 01-08-20 to conduct a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) enforcement operation within the city limits of Green Bay.

The purpose of this deployment was to ensure that CMV’s and the operators of these vehicles are in compliance with state laws and city ordinances and are travelling throughout the City of Green Bay in a safe and legal manner.

Green Bay officers initiated 10 stops on their own and wrote a total of 8 citations and 8 warnings for various violations.

Wisconsin State Patrol officers conducted 13 CMV Inspections and stopped 7 passenger cars. They issued 3 citations and 35 warnings. They had 3 violations resulting in CMV’s being placed “Out of Service”.

Many of the stops made were for significant safety issues which needed to be addressed by the CMV Carriers.

This deployment demonstrates the importance for all vehicles and operators to follow the laws that are in place to provide safe travels for all operators on Green Bay roadways.

Additional deployments are planned and will be taking place throughout the year.
