Most people may not know the name Arlene Nash. Here’s what you need to know. She and the Hill and Valley Club help your Hayward Police Department put smiles on children’s faces.

Arlene joined the Hill and Valley Club about 2 years ago. Recently, she helped spearhead an effort to donate stuffed animals to local police departments. She posted her idea on Nextdoor and the community bought in and the donations flowed in.

They asked if we wanted to join. We said “of course!” She and her husband dropped off about 100 stuffed animals so we can equip our patrol cars and hand them out to children in need…especially those in traumatic situations.
