UPDATE: Attention Long Beach Township home and business owners: Our RE-ENTRY Placards, which will assist you should Long Beach Island be evacuated due to an emergency such as a hurricane, are being mailed. PLEASE DO NOT COME INTO THE POLICE DEPARTMENT LOOKING TO PICK THEM UP. Please look for them in your mail in the coming weeks. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OR RECORDS TO VERIFY YOUR MAILING ADDRESS. You can visit www.tax.co.ocean.nj.us to check your mailing address. 
If you are a YEAR ROUND resident who rents a property you will need to bring your lease into our police records office in order to obtain a new placard. If you no longer own your property and receive one in error, please return it to police records or the new property owner as they are numbered and specific to the property. The placard’s intention is to enhance the security of your property during an evacuation and to give residents priority during the repopulation process. Please consider securing the placard in the primary vehicle in which you would return to the island. Should the card be lost, there is a $50.00 replacement fee, so please be attentive to its importance. Thank you!
