Troop 41 made a visit to learn about fingerprints and obtain their Fingerprint Merit Badge!

Great evening hanging out with Troop 41 while they learned about fingerprints and how we process them, and special thanks to the Plymouth County Sheriffs Department, Sgt. Kevin Briggs, for helping us out!  School Resource Officer Lynch and White coordinated the instruction with approximately 15 youths from the Troop who learned about how prints are left on an object, how we process those prints and what we need to positively identify a person by his or her fingerprints.

Many of you may not know, but most police departments in Plymouth County, like us, use the services of the Plymouth County Sheriff's Department / Bureau of Criminal Investigations to process their crime scenes.  You've probable seen thier cruisers passing by with the words BCI on the side.  These officers are specially trained in processing crime scenes, fingerprints, photography and evidence collection.  Their knowledge and ability to process evidence is invaluable to us and those we serve!
