Narrative:
On December 20, 2019, detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team and Gang Unit arrested Jacob Oseguera and Jorge Nunez out of Oxnard for possession of illegal firearms and ammunition.

On December 20, 2019, detectives followed up on information indicating Jacob Oseguera was in possession of an illegal firearm. Detectives began an investigation and tracked Oseguera to the 2400 Block of Alvarado Street in Oxnard where detectives found him associating with Jorge Nunez, also out of Oxnard. Detectives determined Oseguera and Nunez were both on active Ventura County probation with search terms prohibiting them from possessing weapons.

Detectives conducted surveillance on both subjects and subsequently contacted them both in the area of Alvarado Street and Stroube Street in El Rio. Detectives detained both subjects in order to invoke the terms of their probation. During the contact, Oseguera was found to be concealing a shortened barrel 12 gauge shotgun in this waistband and shotgun ammunition in his sweatshirt pocket. Nunez was found to be concealing a loaded .40 caliber firearm with a high capacity magazine in his front waistband. The magazine contained 19 live rounds of ammunition. Both firearms were unregistered.

Based on the investigation, Oseguera and Nunez were both arrested for numerous firearms charges and booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

The Narcotics Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Oxnard Police Department.
