The Kern County Sheriff’s Office is always open, but the holiday season will impact hours for some public services.
The County of Kern will be observing a period of “winter recess” which includes all non-holiday business days between Christmas and New Year, specifically December 26^th, 27^th, and 30^th. 
While we will be available to respond to calls for service, many of our lobbies/counters will be closed to the public.  See below for a complete list.

Lerdo Detention Facilities and the Central Receiving Facility visitation is open and continues for the facilities as listed on kernsheriff.org
Substations: We will have one open in each section of Kern County
North Area Substations Section- Wasco Substation
South Area Substations Section-Lamont Substation
East Area Substations Section- Mojave Substation
North East Area Substations Section- Ridgecrest Substation
All closed substations will have signage directing the community to the nearest open substation.
All substations will be closed on the actual holidays (December 24^th and 25^th and December 31^st and January 1^st).
