INCIDENT: FATAL TRAFFIC COLLISION

On Saturday, December 21, 2019 7:35PM, Pomona Police responded to a call for service of a possible vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. When officers arrived on scene, they found a male subject unconscious on Holt Ave in the westbound lanes of traffic. The subject appeared to have suffered severe injuries, and was pronounced the deceased at the scene. No involved drivers were present.
While officers were on scene, a female subject arrived and identified herself as an involved driver. She is cooperating fully with the police.
Based on witness statements, it appears that the male subject was initially struck by a different vehicle; as a result of that collision, the subject lay down in the number one lane of westbound Holt Ave, where he was then run over by a separate driver.
The driver from the initial collision did not remain on scene, and could not be located.
