GBPD looking for the suspect(s) in an animal cruelty investigation.

On Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:00 AM, a City Department of Public Works employee observed an abandoned suitcase in a ditch containing a deceased puppy on Emmet Street in the City of Green Bay. Green Bay Animal Protection was notified and took custody of the dog.

The dog is estimated to be a 4-6 month old, black and white intact Pitbull terrier type dog. A forensic necropsy is being conducted. At this time the Green Bay Police Department is looking for any information with regard to the deceased animal or any witnesses to suspect(s) discarding the suitcase.

The Green Bay Police Department is urging people to surrender unwanted pets to your local animal shelter or rescue. There are also proper ways to dispose of deceased animals other than discarding. If you have any questions pertaining to surrender or discarding, please contact your local shelter or the Green Bay Police Animal Protection.
