Winter Safety Reminder

The Denville Twp. Police Department would like to take this time before the anticipated winter storm to remind all residents of the following laws and ordinances designed to help make Denville a safer community:

- Please remember to clear all sidewalks of snow and ice within 12 hours of the winter storm’s end. Failure to do so may result in a summons being issued.
- Do not throw any snow you clear from your driveways or sidewalks into the roadway. Placing snow in the roadway can result in a summons being issued.
- Do not park on any snow covered street in the Township. If a vehicle is found to be parked on a snow covered roadway, it could result in a summons and your vehicle being towed.
- Remember to remove all snow and ice from your vehicles before driving them.

In addition, we would like to request any resident with a fire hydrant on their property to clear the hydrant of any accumulating snow. This is so the hydrant is more visible and more accessible to the Fire Department in the event of an emergency.

The Denville Police Department would like to thank everyone in advance for their cooperation. Have a safe and healthy Happy Holiday season!
