On Sunday, December 15, 2019, at approximately 1:50 a.m., the Turlock Police Department received multiple calls reporting that a female had been shot behind businesses in the 400 block of E. Main Street. Officers quickly responded and located a suspect vehicle leaving the area. A vehicle stop was initiated. The driver, Steven Sawyer, a 29 year old male from Patterson, was arrested. This is an active investigation and Detectives are following up on further leads on additional possible suspect(s).

Throughout the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a female and male victim were robbed at gunpoint behind the bar. During the robbery, a female victim was shot. She was transported to a local hospital, her injury is non-life threatening. At this time, this is still an active investigation and no additional details will be released.

Steven Sawyer was booked into the Stanislaus County jail for robbery, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm.
