...Accumulating Snow and Ice Expected This Afternoon through Monday Morning... .A winter storm system will move eastward toward the region today and through the region on Monday. Accumulating snow will possible mainly along I-64 this afternoon and evening. Then as the snow becomes rain and temperatures drop to the freezing mark this evening, accumulating ice is expected across portions of southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. Temperatures should climb above freezing throughout the area by midday Monday and bring an end to this round of winter weather.
* WHAT...Snow is expected this afternoon. It will transition to rain in the evening, and a brief period of freezing rain will be possible. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches are expected, possibly followed by a very light glaze.
* WHERE...All of southwest Indiana and White County in southern Illinois.
* WHEN...From noon today to 11 PM CST this evening.
* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions primarily on bridges and overpasses.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Slippery road conditions may briefly become more widespread when and where the heaviest snow falls.
