Narrative:
On December 10, 2019, detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team concluded an investigation involving Alberto Mendez of Oxnard, who was believed to be involved in the sales of narcotics to residents of Ventura County.

In early December 2019, detectives received information indicating Mendez was selling methamphetamine.  Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to obtain a search warrant for Mendez, his vehicle and his residence located in the 1100 Block of Fir Avenue in Oxnard.

On December 10, 2019, detectives contacted Mendez during a traffic enforcement stop.  During a search of Mendez’ vehicle, detectives found approximately nine ounces of methamphetamine packaged for sale, along with a scale and packaging material consistent with narcotics sales.  Detectives arrested Mendez for narcotics sales.

Following Mendez’ arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at his residence.   Detectives found additional methamphetamine, paraphernalia indicative of narcotics sales, ammunition, a ballistic vest and money believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales. In all, detectives seized 277 grams of methamphetamine.  Mendez’ past felony conviction prohibits him from owning and or possessing the ammunition or ballistic vest.

Mendez was subsequently booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility for narcotics sales and possession of ammunition and ballistic vest.

The Narcotics Street Team is comprised of Narcotic Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the Oxnard Police Department.
