SUBJECT: Traffic Stop Leads to Narcotics Arrest

LOCATION: Rt. 66 near Rt. 18 in Ocean Township
ACCUSED: Ivory Cross, 30 year old female of Toms River, NJ
Zhaonna Bennett, 20 year old female of Bayville, NJ
OFFICER INVOLVED: Detective Michael Legg
NARRATIVE: On November 29, 2019 at approximately 9:21 pm, Detective Michael Legg was conducting DWI enforcement in the area of Rt. 66. He observed a vehicle which committed a motor vehicle infraction and conducted a motor vehicle stop. During his investigation, Detective Legg located narcotics and both subjects were placed under arrest. Ivory Cross was charged with Possession of Crack Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure to Turn Over CDS to a Law Enforcement Officer and Contempt of Court. Zhaonna Bennett was charged with Possession of CDS, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cross and Bennett were processed and released pending a future court appearance.
