CORRECTION: Anchorage Police Academy recruits graduated today; Airport PD, Wasilla PD, and JBER included

At 3pm on Thursday, December 5, 2019, 20 officers graduated from the 19-1 APD Police Academy.  14 of those are now APD officers, two are JBER Security Forces, two are Ted Stevens International Airport Police Officers, and two are Wasilla Police Officers. Representatives from all four entities were present for the ceremony.

With these 14 graduates, APD now has 407 sworn employees.  On Thursday, December 12, 2019, 19 recruits will begin the 19-2 Police Academy. 
"Adding more officers to our department maintains our ability to respond to the needs of our community," said Chief Justin Doll.  "This graduation will help our officers pursue APD's goals for keeping our city safe."
We welcome these new officers with open arms into our blue family and look forward to working with them.  We also congratulate Wasilla PD, Airport PD, and JBER on their new members.
