November 15th

Shoplifting – Walgreens 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 8:25 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business, selected merchandise, and concealed the items into a bag. The male then walked out of the store without paying.

Grand Theft - 1700 block of Liberty St:
At 1:32 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from underneath the victim’s vehicle sometime over the past several days.

Stolen Vehicle – 5800 block of Avila St:
At 3:02 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s white Ford Van sometime between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.

Warrant arrest – Central Avenue at San Mateo Avenue:
An officer pulled a vehicle over and found the driver had an arrest warrant from the ECPD. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

November 17th

Shoplifting & Warrant Arrest – 11565 San Pablo Avenue Walgreens:
At 1:08 pm, an officer reports two individuals were placed under citizen’s arrest after they were identified as having just stolen from the business. The 57-year-old male was issued a citation and released from the scene. The 54-year-old female had a warrant for her arrest and was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Battery – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza Luckys:
At 3:22 pm, an officer reports the citizen’s arrest of a 47-year-old woman after she spat on a store employee who confronted her while she was attempting to steal merchandise. The woman was issued a citation and released at the scene.

Warrant Arrest – BART path / Blake St:
At 4:16 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 28-year-old male who had several warrants for his arrest. The man was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 11511 San Pablo Avenue, T-Mobile:
At 5:04 pm, an officer reports an unknown subject entered the business and stole several hundred dollars worth of merchandise before fleeing.

Shoplifting – 10057 San Pablo Avenue Ace Hardware:
At 5:06 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 65-year-old woman who was detained by store staff outside of the business with stolen merchandise. The woman was issued a citation and released at the scene.

November 18th

Battery – 300 block of Behrens St:
At 12:03 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 31-year-old woman who had struck her mother during an argument. The woman was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Shoplifting – 11450 San Pablo Ave Safeway:
At 3:05 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 37-year-old male who had been detained by store staff after leaving the store with stolen merchandise. The man was issued a citation and released from the scene.

Burglary – 6500 block of Lagunitas Avenue:
An officer went to the call of a home burglary that had happened sometime within the past day. Household items were stolen from the home.

November 19th

Driving Under the Influence – Avila St / Carlson Blvd:
At 7:34 pm, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and arrested a male for driving with excessive blood alcohol and driving on a suspended license from a previous DUI arrest. The male was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and later released on a citation to a sober friend.

Armed Robbery – 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 10:52 pm, officers responded to an armed takeover robbery. Two employees of the CVS were confronted in the security office at the rear of the store after hours. The suspect was armed with a small handgun. No injuries were reported, and the loss was cash.

November 20th

Recovered Stolen Vehicle – Eureka Ave / Everett St:
At 4:08 am, an officer located a GMC van stolen out of San Francisco. The van appeared to have been left parked and unoccupied for quite some time. The vehicle was processed for evidence and towed.

Shoplifting – 670 EC Plaza (CVS):
At 7:22 pm, an officer reports an unknown male wearing a long sleeve dark shirt, blue jeans, and grey flip flops stole two bottles of vodka and fled the store on foot. The loss was reported at approximately $60.00.

November 21st

Petty Theft / Trespassing – 11861 San Pablo Ave (Starbucks):
At 6:57 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a male after he entered the Starbucks café, consumed a sandwich without paying, and then refused to leave. The male had been previously banned from the restaurant due to repeated theft. The male was found still inside the café and ultimately released in the field after the issuance of a citation.

November 22nd

Defrauding an Innkeeper – 11344 San Pablo Ave (Denny’s):
At 3:52 am, an officer reports two males and two females fled Denny’s restaurant in a silver Dodge Caravan after they consumed $171.99 worth of food and did not pay.

Auto Burglary – 5800 block of Barrett Ave:
At 4:10 am, an officer located the victim’s sport utility vehicle with a shattered driver side window. The victim reported hearing an alarm sound and tires screeching approximately 30 minutes before the officer’s discovery. The loss was reported as cash and a laptop.

November 22nd

Auto Burglary – 000 block of Carmel Ave:
At 6:34 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a gym bag containing clothing and electronics.

Vandalism – 2000 block of Key Blvd:
At 7:51 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect used spray paint to deface the painted surface of the victim’s vehicle.

Attempted Theft – Stockton Ave / Elm St:
At 8:05 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle and rummaged through the car.

Grand Theft – 6700 Portola Dr:
At 2:23 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the catalytic converter from underneath the victim’s vehicle.

Petty Theft – 7100 block of Donal Ave:
At 3:11 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole a bicycle, which had been secured with a chain and lock.

Identity Theft – 7600 block of Stockton Ave:
At 3:35 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect used the victim’s personal identifying information to open a credit card without the victim’s permission.

Shoplifting – 11565 San Pablo Ave:
At 3:46 pm, an officer reports three unknown suspects entered the business and selected numerous makeup items before fleeing the store.

Grand Theft – 3090 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 4:34 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s unattended laptop from a table inside the business and ran off to an awaiting vehicle.

Grand Theft – 10026 San Pablo Ave:
At 4:36 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole a set of wheels and tires that had been stored behind a business.

Auto Burglary – San Diego St / San Pablo Ave:
At 5:51 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed two bags that contained personal property and electronics.

Public Intoxication & Criminal Threats – BART Path/ Blake St:
At 6:49 pm, an officer reports the suspect, a 62-year-old Richmond male, was harassing and threatening citizens. While speaking with the officer, the suspect was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. The suspect was placed under citizen’s arrest and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

November 23rd

Strong-arm Robbery – 800 block of Balra Dr:
At 10:29 am, an officer reports and unknown suspect met up with the victim to make a private party purchase of electronics. The suspect presented the victim with counterfeit money and knocked the victim down while fleeing the scene.

Robbery – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 8:52 pm, an officer reports that the suspect, a 23-year old Richmond male, was seen placing items in his backpack. A security guard confronted the suspect, and he refused to give the property back. A fight ensued between the suspect and the security guard. The suspect was arrested and booked into the Martinez Detention Facility.

November 24th

Commercial Burglary – 11575 San Pablo Ave:

At 1:39 am, an officer reports that an unknown suspect broke the drive-thru window of the business and triggered multiple interior alarms. No property loss was reported.

Vandalism – 11430 San Pablo Ave:
At 6:23 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke one of the front windows to the business.

Vehicle Theft – 7600 block of Stockton Ave:
At 4:40 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s vehicle approximately one week earlier. The car had just been purchased, and the victim did not have the information necessary to report the car as stolen.


Domestic Battery – 3300 block of Yosemite Ave:
At 9:46 pm, an officer reports the victim, and his roommate got into an argument that turned physical. The suspect, a 65-year old El Cerrito man, pushed and hit the victim numerous times. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI – 11299 San Pablo Avenue:
An officer located a disabled vehicle in the parking lot. The driver was asleep behind the wheel and had driven into the bushes. After an investigation, it was determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released to a sober relative.

November 25th

Auto Burglary – 225 El Cerrito Plaza (Trader Joes):
At 10:34 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke a window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a laptop computer.

Drunk in Public – San Pablo Ave / Fairmount Ave:
At 12:46 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 35-year-old man and 50-year-old man who were too intoxicated to care for themselves. Both men were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Petty Theft – 7000 block of Donal Ave:
At 1:43 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect removed the victim’s bicycle, which had been left in a bike rack unsecured.

Residential Burglary – 5800 block of Avila St:
At 3:43 pm, an officer reports two unknown suspects broke a bedroom window and gained entry into the residence where they stole cash and electronics.

Auto Burglary – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 7:09 pm, an officer reports the victim’s rented sport utility vehicle was left unattended in the parking lot. The victim returned and found the passenger side rear window shattered and property missing.

Residential Burglary – 5800 Block of Avila St:
At 9:08 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the residence through an open kitchen window after removing the outer screen. The suspect ransacked the residence, and property was stolen.

Shoplifting – 670 EC Plaza (CVS):
At 9:34 pm, an officer reports that a male entered the store, selected candy items, and fled on foot towards Trader Joe’s without paying. CVS management reports the male did the same thing at 5:30 pm, but the staff was too busy to call for the Police.

November 26th

Strong Arm Robbery – 670 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 12:17 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 20-year-old man who was identified as the person responsible for the theft of a cell phone. The man was later transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Strong Arm Robbery – 9895 San Pablo Ave:
At 5:43 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect grabbed the victim’s laptop computer from a table inside the business. The victim grabbed the laptop and struggled with the suspect briefly before the suspect ran off with the computer.

Auto Burglary – Carlson Blvd/San Diego St:
At 10:41 pm, an officer reports the victim’s sport utility vehicle had the rear window smashed, and two backpacks were stolen. No suspect information was available, and the estimated time of occurrence was between 6:30 pm – 10:30 pm.

Misappropriation of Lost Property – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 11:39 pm, an officer reports the victim dropped a large amount of cash accidentally while walking through Safeway. A male and a female are seen on surveillance video picking up the money and making no attempt to return it to the victim.

November 27th

Warrant Arrest – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 2:05 am, officers responded to a call of two suspicious males seen in the Safeway parking lot. Two males were contacted, and one was found to have a warrant for his arrest for a parole violation. The male was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Battery – 11450 San Pablo Ave (Safeway):
At 7:10 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a female after she spat in the face of a Safeway employee. The female was issued a citation for battery and released at the scene.

Grand Theft – 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS):
At 10:31 pm, an officer observed a male run out of the front doors of CVS with employees chasing after him. After the officer confirmed a theft had occurred, he located the male a short distance away. The male was found with a large amount of stolen property and was arrested. The male was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

November 28th

Hit & Run Collision – 3000 Block of Carlson Blvd:
At 6:20 pm, an officer reports the victim’s parked and unoccupied sedan was hit from the rear by an unknown vehicle. The time of occurrence was between the hours of 6:00 pm – 6:05 pm.


Shoplifting; Trespassing; Resisting Arrest – 670 EC Plaza (CVS):
At 7:15 pm, an officer reports a male entered the CVS store, ignored an employee's demands to leave, selected a bottle of alcohol, and fled on foot towards San Pablo Ave. The male was located walking on Avila St at Carlson Blvd. An officer attempted to detain the male, but he ignored all commands and walked away. Additional officers arrived on the scene, and the male was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
