The San Leandro Police Department has arrested a suspect in the robbery of a US Bank, located at 1585 East 14^th Street in San Leandro.
 
On Monday, December 2, 2019, at 10:25am, the suspect, later identified as 57-year-old Oakland resident Grady Arnold, entered the bank and handed the teller a note that demanded money. After obtaining an undisclosed amount, Arnold walked out of the bank and fled with the loss.  Despite a search of the area by police officers who responded to the reported robbery, Arnold was not located. 
 
San Leandro Police Detectives and Crime Analyst Denise Joseph immediately began investigating this robbery.  Using her law enforcement computer databases, Analyst Joseph quickly identified Arnold as a possible suspect and worked in collaboration with detectives to locate him. 
 
At 2:00pm, detectives located and arrested Arnold, in the 5700 block of Foothill Boulevard in Oakland, without incident for his involvement in this robbery.  He was interviewed by detectives and confessed to the crime.  Arnold was booked into Santa Rita Jail for robbery where he is being held on a $100,000 bail. 
 
On Wednesday, December 4, 2019, detectives presented the case to the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office who filed charges against Arnold for Robbery.

Crime Analyst Denise Joseph’s vast experience and knowledge in this field, undoubtedly, solved what could have been a lengthy investigation in about two hours,” said Lt. Ted Henderson.
