10:30 AM - Weather Update
The precipitation has started to change from rain to sleet and light snow. Roadway conditions remain good. A Winter Storm Warning is posted until 4 AM Tuesday for Somerset, Middlesex, and Mercer Counties. The South Brunswick School District announced that they will have an early closing. New Jersey State offices will be closing at 12pm.
FORECAST -
On and off light rain this morning will give way to steadier rain as we head through the early morning hours. As the precipitation intensifies, colder air will wrap into the area leading to a changeover to mainly snow.
While the snow may briefly fail to stick as the changeover takes place, the intensity toward the tail end of the morning rush and midday can be sufficient to overcome the initially marginal temps. There still can be a few lighter breaks today in between heavier bands when it will not stick as efficiently. Given the daytime accumulations of 1 - 2", with an additional 1 - 2" tonight, a plowable snowfall is more likely than for most, bringing more significant impacts to the afternoon commute. Periods of snow (locally moderate to heavy) will continue into the evening and early portions of the overnight tonight before winding down completely between 2AM and 5 AM. Snow totals will be between 2 - 4 inches.

- Early Closing – Saint Augustine of Canterbury School will close early at 12 PM
