Winter Storm Advisory

Winter Storm Update - Monday AM

A rainy morning here in Neptune is expected to give way to snow this afternoon, continuing until midnight tonight. Snow has already started falling in the western half of the state and is expected to continue moving eastward over the next several hours. Currently, we are expecting 2" to 4" of accumulation by the late evening hours tonight, with the majority falling between the mid-afternoon hours and midnight tonight. Heavy bands of snow are likely to develop during this storm and could bring higher than expected totals to isolated areas of the state, including our area. The timing of the storm is expected to cause significant travel impacts throughout the state, especially for evening commuters traveling back to the area from northern NJ and NYC, where accumulations are expected in the 4" to 6" range. Minor coastal flooding is also expected in flood-prone areas during the noon high tide.

While we don't expect significant accumulations, small changes to the path of this winter storm could bring higher than expected totals to our area, leading to a need for DPW to send the plows out on the road. As a reminder to our residents, snow parking regulations go into effect once Neptune's roads are snow-covered, which means no parking on even-numbered sides of the streets or anywhere indicated by "Snow Emergency Parking" signs.

Continue to monitor this page and your local media for updates as the day progresses. Stay safe on the roads!
