Mixed winter weather expected today. Use caution on the roads. 
Today looks to be a messy weather day.
Rain...this morning into the afternoon. This could be freezing rain or sleet at times. Roads can be slippery during this time.
Snow...snow expected to begin later this afternoon, continue this evening and through the night. Accumulating snow reports vary greatly, from a trace to 8". This will be the biggest challenge of the storm. Monitor radio and television weather reports during the day for updates.
Road Treatment...the Department of Public Works equipment is staged, prepared and will continue to treat the roadways today. They will begin to PLOW after 2" of snow has accumulated. Main roads and intersections are their first priorities so emergency vehicles and snow removal equipment can travel safely. In the event of plowable snow, we ask that you park all vehicles off the roadways tonight.
