3PM Weather Alert - Snow on Monday
WEATHER ALERT
It appears there will be snow impacting our community on Monday. Drivers need to allow extra time. Here is the 3pm update.
FORECAST
Any sleet still mixing in with the rain this afternoon will end shortly with rain showers continuing for the rest of today. A lull in steady precipitation is expected for tonight with temperatures staying above freezing.
Then, a period of snow will likely develop during the day Monday. A tight snowfall gradient will set up from north to south, which will lead to a tricky snowfall forecast. The snow will be variable throughout the day tomorrow with intermittent periods of heavy snow changing to light snow at times.
Currently, a plowable accumulation is expected, and despite temperatures above freezing, heavy snowfall rates will likely overcome warm pavement temperatures. (During lighter snowfall, pavements will struggle to
accumulate). Snow will taper off to light snow showers before midnight Monday night, and end completely by predawn Tuesday.
