INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Etiwanda Avenue and Fourth Street, City of Rancho Cucamonga
PEDESTRIAN: 45 year-old-male, resident of Riverside, name withheld pending next of kin notification
DRIVER: Jorge Ramirez, 51-years-old, resident of Rancho Cucamonga
SUMMARY: On Thursday, November 21, 2019, at 4:40 am, deputies assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station were notified of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. Upon arrival, deputies, along with the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department rendered medical aid to the pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle. Despite lifesaving efforts, the pedestrian died at the scene of the incident. Ramirez, the driver of the vehicle, was not hurt.
Investigators from the Rancho Cucamonga Station Major Accident Investigation Team assumed the collision investigation. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
