INCIDENT: Human Trafficking of a Minor and Victim Rescue
 
LOCATION: 100 Block of S. E Street, San Bernardino 
 
SUSPECT(S): CONFIDENTIAL- 17-year-old, male Juvenile resident of San Bernardino County
 
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL- 17-year-old, female Juvenile resident of San Bernardino County
 
 
SUMMARY: On Wednesday, November 13, 2019, at about 12:00 pm, San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force investigators received information, a juvenile female was possibly being Trafficked from a hotel on S. E. Street, in the City of San Bernardino.  Task Force members, assisted by members of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Narcotics Division, conducted surveillance at a motel in hopes of locating and identifying the juvenile. Shortly after initiating surveillance, investigators noticed a female fitting the description of the juvenile, near an open room door. Investigators also noticed a male frequenting the same room the female was seen near. During contact with both subjects, investigators determined the female was seventeen years old, and a reported Runaway Juvenile from San Bernardino County.  Contact with the male subject also found him to be seventeen years old. While speaking with both at the scene, the female began to display signs of medical distress. An ambulance was called and transported the female to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment. During that time, the male was transported to the Sheriff's Central Station for an additional interview.
 
During the interview with the male, information was discovered which supported his involvement in the Human Trafficking of the Juvenile female. He was placed under arrest, transported and booked at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall for Felony Human Trafficking of a Juvenile. He is being held without bail.
 
After receiving medical treatment, the Juvenile Victim was rescued, provided immediate services and safely released/returned to her family. 
 
The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is made up of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office, Ontario Police Department, Redlands Police Department, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
