Public's Help sought in Identifying Arson Suspect
The San Leandro Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying an arson suspect sought in connection with a vehicle fire that was reported in the 800 block of Casanova Drive.
On November 10, 2019, SLPD officers responded to the above address for a vehicle fire that engulfed the engine portion of the car. Officers learned that the pictured suspect drove to the location in a blue Toyota Prius and stopped near the residence. The suspect walked to the driveway, where the white Toyota Rav4 was parked, and used an unknown accelerant to light the front tire on fire before fleeing the scene in his Toyota Prius.
Officers canvassed the neighborhood and located surveillance footage that provided a description of the suspect who was described as a light skin male, 25-30 years old. He was last seen wearing a black peacoat style jacket, blue jeans, gray shoes, and driving a blue Toyota Prius.
“We believe that someone in the community can help us advance our investigation into this arson. We are asking for the public to take a look at the photographs and, if they have any information, to please call the San Leandro Police Department,” said Lt. Ted Henderson.
