On November 17 at 10:55 p.m., the Newport Beach Police Department’s Dispatch Center was notified of a traffic collision near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway West and 61st Street. The collision involved a single vehicle: 2004, black, Infinity, G35.
The car was travelling westbound on Pacific Coast Highway when the driver lost control and hit the rear of a business and became engulfed in flames. The driver, an adult male and the lone occupant of the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries as a result of the collision.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The NBPD is seeking witnesses to the collision, or anyone who can assist with additional information about the incident.
