Update: Danielle Agnus arrested in OUI investigation; Lake Otis Pkwy & Tudor Rd

The preliminary investigation found that around 3:55 a.m., an officer with the Patrol Division was investigating a traffic incident in the area of Lake Otis Parkway and Tudor Road. The officer was then notified about a possible impaired driver in a white Jeep Renegade passed out in the southbound lane of Lake Otis Parkway at Tudor Road.
Two additional officers arrived at the scene to assist. All three police vehicles had their emergency lights activated as they parked and remained activated when they exited their vehicles. One officer parked in front of the vehicle, one officer parked behind the vehicle and one officer parked farther north to block the southbound lane for the officers to safely investigate and protect the driver.
As the officers were investigating, a silver 2012 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling southbound on Lake Otis Parkway approaching Tudor Road. The lane the driver was using was the same lane that was occupied by the officers, their vehicles and the Renegade. The adult female driver of the Equinox failed to change lanes. She crashed into police vehicle blocking the lane, continued traveling and crashed into the police vehicle parked causing a chain reaction collision. An officer was inside the vehicle parked behind the Renegade when it was struck and injured. The driver of the Renegade was still inside and not injured. The police vehicle in front of the Renegade was unoccupied when it was struck. The two other officers were not injured. The driver of the Equinox was not injured.
The suspect driver showed signs of impairment.  After conducting Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs), she was arrested and transported to the jail.
She’s been identified as Danielle Agnus (21-years-old). She faces multiple charges including Operating Under the Influence (OUI), Assault 3 and Passing/Overtaking Emergency Vehicles. Her blood/alcohol level was more than three times the legal limit.
Our partners with the Anchorage Fire Department treated the injured officer at the scene for minor injuries. They evaluated everyone else.
The driver of the Renegade was found not to be impaired. He was driven home by one of the officers because his vehicle had to be towed due to damage from the collision.
