Advisory

San Marino has had five vehicle burglaries this week. Please lock your vehicles and remove your valuables!

San Marino has had a rise in vehicle burglaries over the past couple weeks.  We have had five vehicle burglaries this week alone throughout the City.

Please consider the following tips when parking your vehicle:

  • Try to park your vehicle in a well-lit area.
  • Make sure to lock your vehicle.
  • Do not leave anything visible inside the vehicle.
  • Watch out for suspicious people / vehicles in the area.
Suspects usually look inside your vehicle for purses, backpacks, packages, or anything else of perceived value. Any type of bag is tempting for a burglar, even gym bags!  They will then smash a window, if the vehicle is locked, and take the item(s).  Suspects will often watch people leave their vehicles and commit the break-in soon after you leave.  If a wallet or purse is taken, the suspect will usually use any credit cards immediately.

Please keep all your property safe!

Lock it, Hide it, Keep it
