Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun charges.

On October 28 at approximately 1:10 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were in the area 4000 block of Northeast Blvd. when they observed 28-year-old Markel Davis acting suspiciously.  As officers attempted to make contact with Davis, he fled on foot.  Davis was taken into custody a short time later and found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, which was reported stolen.
Davis was charged with the following offenses:

• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited (2 counts)
• Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
• Receiving a Stolen Firearm
• Resisting Arrest with Force
• Resisting Arrest
• Escape (3^rd Degree)
• Criminal Mischief Under $1500
