On October 12th and October 19th of 2019, pizza delivery drivers were robbed of pizza and money. The first robbery occurred at the Balfour Apartments at approximately 11:30 p.m. and the second robbery occurred in the same area on Williamsburg Court at approximately 10:30 p.m. Both pizza delivery drivers were robbed at the delivery points. Both orders had been placed by telephone. Neither driver was hurt during the robberies. Harper Woods Detectives determined the suspects utilized an application to conceal the phone number they were calling from.
On October 31, 2019 Harper Woods Detectives located and arrested DAVAUGHN MAURICE JONES and a 16 year old juvenile who were responsible for these robberies. JONES, an 18 year old Harper Woods resident, was formally charged with (1) count of unarmed robbery in 32-A District Court in front of the Honorable Judge Daniel S. Palmer. JONES was given a $2,500.00 10% cash bond and ordered to wear a GPS tether with house arrest. JONES has a Preliminary Examination date scheduled November 20, 2019 at 1:30 p.m. If convicted, JONES faces up to 15 years in prison.
The juvenile will be charged through the Wayne County 3rd Circuit Juvenile Court.
