Crime Alert Bulletin

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.

Notable Cases

On Tuesday, 10-22-19 at approximately 3:00 p.m., two 15-year old Daly City residents were the victims of an assault with a deadly weapon, battery, conspiracy and fighting in a public place by four males (a 17-year old and a 20-year old from Broadmoor and a 16-year old and 20-year old from Daly City). This occurred at the Jack in the Box restaurant. The victims sustained minor injuries, and all four subjects were booked for the above charges. The two Broadmoor residents were also charged with resisting arrest.

On Wednesday, 10-23-19 at 4:43 p.m., Officer Lizana and Officer Reininger were dispatched to the In N Out restaurant on Washington Street on a report of two male subjects who were in the restroom refusing to leave. When the officers neared the restroom, they were told that one subject was in the restroom. The officers could immediately hear a male singing and yelling “twerk, twerk, twerk, twerk” to a song playing from a cell phone at maximum volume. When they entered the restroom, the officers saw a male subject dancing the “twerk” and saw foil with burn marks and a plastic straw on the floor next to the subject. The officers contacted two other related subjects once they got the subject out of the restroom. The subject in the restroom, a 28-year old Oakland resident, was arrested for being in possession of drug paraphernalia. His other two associates, a 32-year old female San Francisco resident and a 43-year old male Pittsburg resident, were arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance. The 43-year old was also arrested for trespassing.

Subsequent to a traffic stop by Officer Grogan at Mission Street and Goethe Street on Wednesday, 10-23-19 at 8:11 p.m., a 39-year old parolee/Daly City resident was arrested for being in possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a high capacity magazine, carrying a loaded firearm, being in possession of ammunition, and for a parole violation. The firearm was a .40 caliber semi-automatic Glock 27.

On Friday, 10-25-19 at 6:31 a.m., officers were dispatched to a residence on the unit block of Seacliff Avenue on a report of a subject attempting to enter a residence. The reporting party said a subject continuously beat on his door for five minutes. Officers arrived and found a subject matching the description and then detained him in handcuffs. The subject broke away and fled from the officers. In doing so, the subject fell and was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for his injuries. A complaint will be sought against the subject, a 24-year old Chico resident.

On Friday, 10-25-19 at 6:00 p.m., Officer Maddison was dispatched to the Wells Fargo Bank at Serramonte Shopping Center on a report of a subject who displayed a police badge while looking into vehicles. Officer Maddison found a subject matching the description at a nearby bus stop. The subject, a 39-year old Fortuna resident, had a Santa Cruz police badge in his possession. He was f stolen property and threatening to kill a police officer.

Nextdoor.com

Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access to a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
