Arrest made in recent armed robberies at convenience stores.

On 10-30-19 at approximately 11:00 p.m. the Janesville Police Department received information from a local law enforcement agency that they were investigating an armed robbery in their jurisdiction. Information was relayed that the suspect in the other jurisdiction’s robbery was operating a blue Nissan Sentra, and that the suspect was a white male.

Officers from the Janesville Police Department have been actively searching for the suspect that committed two armed robberies in Janesville within the last 10 days. On 10-31-19 at approximately 0200 hours Officer Matt Zimborski located a vehicle matching the description, including the make, model, and color at the T.A. Express Truck Stop on the city’s north side.

The officers made contact with the operator of the vehicle, and noted that he was in possession of clothing used in previous crimes. The suspect was taken into custody, and later interviewed. The suspect confessed to committing the two armed robberies recently reported in Janesville at the Stop and Go, 3515 E. Milwaukee and Mulligans, 3961 Milton Avenue. Additional armed robbery charges will likely be issued by other law enforcement agencies within Rock County.
