On October 30, 2019 at 10:32 AM, APD officers were dispatched to motor vehicle crash in the 4500 block of NE 24th Avenue. A 2004 Toyota Camry driven by Jasin Mohamud Kaabo, a 44 year old male of Amarillo, had been westbound on NE 24th. He lost control of the car and slid into the eastbound lanes, striking a 2007 Chevy Silverado truck driven a 52 year old female. Kaabo was taken to a local area hospital where he later died of injuries received in the collision. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
