The Frankfort Police Department continues to remind our residents to lock their vehicle doors and to never leave keys or key fobs in their vehicles.  In the past few weeks we have had vehicle burglary arrests some that have stemmed from residents reporting suspicious activity and others from officers conducting patrols of subdivisions. Whether you observe something suspicious in your subdivision, a store, or on the walking trail we ask that you call the police immediately.  You can call 911 or use the non-emergency number (815)485-2500.  We continue to work along with other police agencies to investigate and deter burglaries to motor vehicles. Although several arrests have been made, we know there are still many crews of car burglars who are committing these crimes. The best way to stop these crimes is to create a routine of never leaving keys/fobs in vehicles, locking vehicle doors every night, putting garage doors down and if you see/hear something, say something and call the police.  Working together makes everyone safer.
