Advisory

Public Safety Power Shutoff is Over...for now...

The Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) that was scheduled for last night was cancelled.  PG&E is constantly monitoring the weather and adjusts the schedule for shutoffs accordingly.  When the weather conditions no longer met the criteria for a PSPS, it was cancelled.

There are no additional PSPS events scheduled.  However, we are still seeing extreme fire weather and are at a Red Flag fire warning.  This means that humidity levels are still critically low and we still need to exercise extreme caution as our dry vegetation is very flammable.  Do not have any outside fires (open BBQs, fire pits, etc.), refrain from smoking outside, do not operate equipment that could cause sparks near dry vegetation and report any fires immediately.

Additional PSPS events could be announced if weather conditions change again, so please ensure that you and your family are prepared.  This is a good time to review your family's emergency plan and review the planning tips in the Wildfire Evacuation Guide and on the Lamorinda CERT website (www.lamorindacert.org).

Thank you to all of you for your patience, understanding, strength and your help in dealing with the power outages and keeping Moraga safe.  For non-emergency incidents, please call Dispatch at (925) 284-5010.  For emergencies, call 9-1-1.  For information during business hours, call the Moraga Police Department at (925) 888-7055.
