HIGH WINDS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT THREE DAYS

High winds are expected for the Simi Valley area from Tuesday, October 29, 2019 through Thursday, October 31, 2019. This will be an “extreme” Red Flag Warning event and there is a chance it could be the strongest offshore wind event so far this season. Simi Valley could potentially experience gusts in the 80 mph range.

There is currently no fire threat to the City of Simi Valley at this time, but we want remind residents there is a high likelihood of Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) during the wind event. Residents are reminded that an intersection with an inoperative, blacked-out traffic signal should be treated as if it had stop signs in all directions.

As we have mentioned in the past, we would like to emphasize the importance of emergency planning and preparedness.
