News Release: Occupied Home Burglarized; Suspects At Large

Police are looking to identify three suspects who are responsible for burglarizing a home while the homeowners were sleeping.

On Saturday, October 26, 2019 at around 9:57 p.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a report of a residential burglary that just occurred in the 1000 block of Cerrito Way. The preliminary investigation revealed a couple in their fifties was sleeping inside their home when the husband woke up after hearing a noise and someone running. He went downstairs and found the back dining room glass door smashed. The burglars stole personal belongings and cash. Two witnesses who were walking by the home saw three suspects holding bags run away and jump into a car. The thieves fled the scene heading eastbound on Los Robles Avenue.

Detectives are actively investigating this case. The witnesses described all three suspects as males in their twenties, wearing black hooded sweatshirts and black baggy pants. They were all approximately 5 foot 7 inches tall with athletic builds. At least one of the suspects was a white male. The other suspects’ race is unknown. The suspect vehicle is a white newer model Toyota sedan.
